Overwatch 2 just shared another teaser for the character known as “the Wolf of Retribution,” believed to be Hero 45, during a Story Time comic featuring Ramattra and Zenyatta. A mysterious figure, described as one of “Talon’s problems,” can be seen in the Overwatch 2 comic wielding a massive sword in front of an explosion.
“Reconciliation” is a new comic narrated by Ramattra voice actor Ramon Tikaram. In the story, Overwatch 2 resolves a two-year cliffhanger during a conversation between Ramattra and Zenyatta about Null Sector’s recent activities and future schemes.
“The Wolf of Retribution” Appears in New Overwatch 2 Comic
However, this Story Time comic holds more than just a conversation between these iconic Omnic heroes. While speaking about his tenuous alliance with Talon, Ramattra refers to the hiccups he has encountered while working with the terrorist group. While doing so, he states that “Talon’s problems may soon become the world’s problems,” over a panel featuring a dark silhouette with a massive sword and wild hair in front of a massive explosion.
This figure is almost certainly the “Wolf of Retribution,” a figure teased in a banner and weapon pedestal in the Arena Victoriae map in Overwatch 2 Stadium. The banner features this warrior in a nearly-identical pose to the character in the comic, and both of which seem similar to a cartoonish drawing seen in the Overwatch 2 Spotlight event earlier this year. The major difference is that the comic silhouette features a much larger weapon that seems to be made of energy – and another recent teaser from the Overwatch 2 sound design team seems to fit such a weapon.
This teaser gives players not only a look at the Wolf of Retribution’s weapon, but also hints as to her backstory. While previous information suggested she was merely a gladiator at the Colosseo map in Overwatch 2, it appears she has some sort of antagonistic connection to Talon as well.
Either way, this all but confirms she is going to be Hero 45, which means fans won’t have to wait long to learn more about her. Assuming Overwatch 2 follows the same reveal pattern it has done for the last several heroes, Hero 45 will be revealed some time around the mid-Season 19 update. Season 19 itself starts October 14, meaning players can likely expect to see and try out this hero in November ahead of their release during Season 20 in December. Until then, fans can only speculate on this mysterious hero’s identity, and how they will play in the game.
